Holiday Reading

Hey everyone!

I have to say that I am very glad to be, officially, back today. I haven’t been around these parts in what seems like forever, but I really wanted to take the opportunity to spend time with my family and to fully recharge my blogging battery. It has been incredibly difficult for me to stay away from you all, especially when so many were in the full swing of things the few times that I sneaked a peek at the blogs.

I don’t know what made me think that I would be able to curl up in a corner and just read. This time of the year is notoriously full of distractions, end of the year sale shopping, and birthdays on top of Christmas and the New Year. It makes me a restless reader.

In typical fashion I had a huge pile of books that  I was going to read. So far I have finished one,  A Thousand Rooms of Dream and Fear which I am reading for BOOK CLUB. I can’t wait to discuss this one because it is a book that lends itself very easily to discussion and I am anxious to hear what others thought.

I also read  A Geography of Secrets and The Water Wars, and am in the midst of casting about for what I want to start the year off with.

And as for the whole of  December…with the way my reading was going in the first half of December, I am a little stunned that I read 7 books this month.  I also read 400 pages of Pillars of the Earth, which I picked up after watching one episode of the miniseries, so that’s really like an 8th book right there, even though I am nowhere close to finishing it.
